Natcho - Green-Winged Macaw - Ara Chloropterus
Natcho is a 15 year old female Green-Winged Macaw, The Green-Winged macaws are the largest of the Ara genus of macaws. In relation to other macaws, it is surpassed in size only by the Hyacinth Macaw. They look very similar to the Scarlet Macaw, but are easily distinguished by the lack of yellow on the wings. Green-wings tend to be a darker red in comparison to the Scarlet.
Natcho has had one previous owner. He hand raised her from a chick. Unfortunately he passed away in the fall of 2019 and her family eventually made the difficult choice to find another home for her.
Now that she's spent some time with us we can see that she's a funny girl. She listens and responds to commands very well, but can be downright goofy sometimes.
